Creative Behavior Lab is based at the University of Wrocław in Poland. At the moment our team comprises 6 members of different academic level. Together we aim to address research questions of high significance, and to yield reliable, inspiring results that advance creativity field around the world.

Dr. Izabela Lebuda is an associate professor at the University of Wrocław in Poland and the University of Graz in Austria. She leads the European Commission project under the Marie Curie Fellowship, which aims to study the cognitive and neural foundations of creative metacognition (see more). Her research interests include personality, creative self-beliefs, and the social context of creative achievement. Favorite creative behavior: drawing and giving names to inanimate objects and stranger pets.
Marta’s work focuses on understanding how and under which conditions we may improve or calibrate ability to select our best ideas more accurately. Specifically, she aims to investigate contextual and individual factors that stand behind the process of better-calibrated creative metacognition accuracy. She is also interested in developing more dynamic measurements for capturing the nature of creative thinking processes.
Marta received her PhD from Maria Grzegorzewska University, Warsaw. In 2022 at the University of Wrocław, she started a 3-year research project “Idea Hunt: On the dynamics and conditions of recognizing creative solutions” funded by the National Science Center (Sonatina 6 call). Member of The International Society for the Study of Creativity and Innovation (ISSCI).
Aleksandra Zielińska is currently pursuing her PhD in psychology at the University of Wrocław, Poland. Her research interests center at the self-regulatory mechanisms through which people guide their creative activities towards original and valuable outcomes. She is passionate about finding practical, wise ways to support creativity by targeting both self-beliefs and self-regulation. She leads a research project, Taming creativity? On self-regulation of creative action, funded by National Science Centre, Poland (see more). In addition to her studies in psychology, Aleksandra holds a degree in business analytics and has a background in classical music (violin playing). When not busy with research, she enjoys fitness trainings, listening to jazz, and taking care of her plants. Favorite creative behavior: making up situational narratives about her cat’s life.
Lidia Wojtycka has joined our Lab recently as she just embarked on the academic path as a PhD candidate. Her work revolves around creative self-efficacy, its mechanisms, correlates and methods of stimulation. Despite being new to the creativity field, she already accumulated some valuable experience from different branches of psychology. Creativity is not only of professional interest for Lidia, but also a personal passion. She likes to express herself through poetry and abstract painting. Favorite creative behavior: guessing what kind of music strangers are listening to as they go down the street.
