"Was Albert Einstein creative because of an innate gift or did his creativity develop as a result of his well-known curiosity? Were Edison’s patents possible due to his innate talent or to his famous “99% percent of perspiration?” Is it possible to develop creative potential, as intervention studies suggest (Dziedziewicz, Oledzka, & Karwowski, 2013), or must one be born with creative qualities to achieve greatness?" (Karwowski, 2013, p. 62)
"(...) creative achievements might be located on a continuum from little-c creativity to Pro-c, to Big-C creativity, while the most mundane, mini-c level is mainly associated with creative thinking and mental processes (Kaufman and Beghetto 2009). Little-c creativity denotes everyday, hobbyist activities (Ivcevic and Mayer 2009), usually conducted for the sake of solving a problem at hand (Zielińska et al. 2020). (...) Indeed, it happens that everyday creativity results not only in activity but observable and recognized effects: internet memes, new ways of decorating the room, new meals, or jokes. Moreover, everyday or little-c creativity often serves as a prelude to more professional activities (Kaufman and Beghetto 2009). (...)" (Karwowski, Czerwonka, Wiśniewska & Forthman, 2021, p. 2)
"(...) Indeed, a person’s belief system participates in the agentic action of transition from creative potential to creative behavior (Karwowski & Beghetto, 2019). People often choose not to try creative behaviors when they are unsure of their abilities (i.e., they hold low creative confidence, Chen, 2016; Choi, 2004), or when the perceived personal value of creativity is low (Plucker & Makel, 2010), or see the situation as unfavorable to creative activity (Kaufman & Beghetto, 2013). Similarly, when people believe that creative abilities are unchangeable (a so-called fixed creative mindset), they are less likely to engage in a creative activity (Hass et al., 2016; Karwowski, 2014). (Zielińska, Lebuda, Ivcevic & Karwowski, 2022, para.2)
"Our model of CBAA asserts that creative potential is not sufficient for creative behavior. Following Bandura (1997, 2001), we claim that creative behavior results from a person’s intentional actions, which are influenced by that person’s belief system. Consequently, the movement from creative potential to creative behavior represents an agentic action." (Karwowski & Beghetto, 2019, p. 402)
